ARTISTIC STATEMENT

Dance is my language. Since my teenage years, ballet, contemporary movement, and choreography have shaped how I express emotion, tell stories, and connect with others. My foundation in classical ballet gives me structure, while contemporary dance gives me freedom, and I use both to explore what it means to feel, to remember, and to evolve.

In high school, I began choreographing original works that reflect my emotional experiences and artistic curiosity. My contemporary piece Snowman explores themes of isolation and transformation, while my ballet work For The End Of Love dives into the emotional aftermath of heartbreak and healing. These pieces represent my desire to create movement that resonates with others and speaks to the complexity of being human.

When I choreograph, I start with structured improvisation, which lets me discover movement that feels honest before shaping it into form. I’m drawn to emotional connection, musicality, and collaboration. I love working with themes, titles, and visual elements like costume and lighting to build a full experience. My goal isn’t to create perfection, it’s to create impact. I want audiences to leave with questions, feelings, or even just a moment of stillness.

I’m inspired by artists who’ve used dance to speak truth like Alvin Ailey, Alonzo King, Dwight Rhoden, Robert Garland, Ulysses Dove, and many others. Their work reminds me that dance can be political, personal, and poetic all at once.

Looking ahead, I want to share my voice with companies across the country, work in film, television, and Broadway, and produce festivals that celebrate dance in all its forms. I believe choreography should be a conversation between artist, dancer, and audience, and I’m committed to making that dialogue powerful, inclusive, and unforgettable.

MY QUOTE

“I dance because my story deserves to be seen. Every step I take carries the weight of perseverance, the rhythm of growth, and the pulse of representation. I’ve stumbled, doubted, and nearly given up, but I chose movement over silence, and purpose over fear. My foundation in dance isn’t just technique, it’s a language I use to speak truth, honor legacy, and challenge what’s possible. Whether I’m choreographing a piece, or performing in someone else’s vision, I show up with heart, humility, and a hunger to evolve. I am not just a dancer, I am a storyteller, a mirror, a force."
